Recipients of the Grants for Junior Researchers for RTI research

The Road Traffic Injuries Research Network is pleased to announce 10 recipients of the Grants for Junior Researchers for RTI research. These awards are made possible utilizing the grant received from the Global Road Safety Facility of the World Bank. This year's scholarship recipients include:

  1. Williams Ackaah - Building and Road Research Institute ( Ghana ) to conduct research on "the relationship between road traffic crashes, flow, speed, and road geometry on rural highways in Ghana "

  2. Umer Mir - Aga Khan University ( Pakistan ) to conduct a "commercial driver accident research survey"

  3. Tam Minh Nguyen - Hue College of Medicine and Pharmacy ( Vietnam ) to conduct research on "driving after drinking in Vietnam : perception, risks and consequences".

  4. Ricardo Perez-Nunez - National Institute of Public Health ( Mexico ) to conduct research on the "economic impact of road traffic injuries in households living in Guadalajara , Jalisco, Mexcio"

  5. Fernando Poo - Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata ( Argentina ) to conduct research on "risky driving behaviors and driving style: their relation to alcohol drinking habits"

  6. Jorge Martin Rodriguez - National Institute of Public Health ( Mexico ) to conduct research on "improving pedestrian safety and reduce risk pedestrian injuries in Mexico City "

  7. Adesola Sangowawa - University of Ibadan (Nigeria) to conduct research on the "capacity building of drivers employed in the University of Ibadan on provision of first aid for accident victims"

  8. Marwa Salem - Cairo University ( Egypt ) to conduct research on the "injury knowledge, attitudes and behavior of Egyptian youth"

  9. Tu Anh Trinh - Vietnam Aviation Academy ( Vietnam ) to conduct research on "building probability models to identify black spots in Vietnam : a case study in Binh Thanh District, HCMC"

  10. Yanru Ye - Shantou University ( China ) to conduct "intervention research on bicycle injury among adolescents in Chaoshan region"
